i just got a complete 50cc pocket dirt bike for $15.
the only thing wrong with it is the flywheel bolt is broken and it has a bad spark.
it has no pull starter so i tested it with an electric drill, but unless im turning it over realy fast theres no spark. how do i fix that?
ill upload a pic in a min

Check the airgap between flywheel and coil - it should be the thickness of a standard business card.

Use a screw extractor to take out the flywheel bolt, replace it with a better one.

Pullstarts are like $15 at ScooterParts4Less, PartsForScooters, and Dave's Motors. You really shouldn't use an electric drill to start it, as it will strip out/break the flywheel bolt.

If you need any more help on it, let me know - I have several of the pb street bikes, and the engines are pretty much all the same from model to model.

i checked the gap its about that.
when i got it there was no insulating washers and different screws holding on the coil, onto the block. dosent those magneto thingos need to be insulated from the engine??
yea, its kinda hard to discribe :p

they can be bolted right on there. try setting the gap it should acctualy be the gap of a peice of normal paper. thats what i always use and it works good. try cleaning the coil up a bit also.

An electric drill won't strip out the bolt lol... unless he's set it to impact or is using a hugebutt impact wrench to start it...

^^-- No, it probably won't, but he should repair the pullstart, anyway. Imagine starting it at home with the drill, riding for a while, and the engine cuts out. Going to be a long walk home .... Not to mention starting it with the drill means there's a big finned flywheel spinning at speed right next to your ankle with no protective covering on it .....

its basically a oversized whipper snipped engine. it jsut has that coil thing, near the flywheel that the magnets pass.

i found another major problem, the spark plug has been screwed in wrongly, and ruined the thread (it was like that when i got it i swear )
im thinking about mabye a tiny briggs, whats the smallest ones they make that will be fairly easy to find?

Hey, bigFoot, you can get a new cylinder head for it, too. There's a guy over at pocketbikeplanet.com who does some awesome engine work, username boosted306. He can make these little two-strokers sit up and bark.

Raid the whole bike if you can ...... never hurts to have spare parts.

Can you throw up a picture of the bike, let us see what kind of frame you're working with? You may be able to put a completely different engine in there, like a Harbor Freight engine, depending on the frame. I know Cateye pb's are good engine-swap platforms.

Actually the 47/49cc's are a Clone of a expensive racing motor... I forgot what it's a Clone off...

But instead of it being a reeded piston port, it came stock as a case reeded motor. Decent motors, I modified mine. It's been on YouTube for a while now.
