Edge Sidewinder

I have been searching a while for go kart plans that will fit my needs and I think it is the Edge Sidewinder. I bought the Arachnid and the Sidewinder plans because I want a single seat kart with full suspension, front and rear brakes. I am trying to keep it less then 60" wide and 100" long so it will fit in my pick up bed. Also so it won't be too large to fit through the wooded trails on my in-laws property.

As of right now I plan to temporarily power it with a Predator 212 but I know it may not enough for the Sidewinder in the long run. I think I am going to have to convert the plans to inches because the first place I checked (Alro) doesn't appear to sell steel in Metric. I am new to welding and buying steel but I did price out what buying parts from Edge would cost and it was pretty outrageous. My goal is going to be to keep it as inexpensive as possible but to buy parts to save work when possible.

From searching these forums I noticed some people have started out with my same intentions but I can't find anyone that built a Sidewinder on the site. I have built a 65 Shelby Cobra kit car before but this seems quite a bit more challenging due to having to make or find the parts. As I get into it more I am going to have a lot of questions. I just hope I am not building the wrong kit but I really like how it looks and should handle.

instead of steel pipe use tube, instead of sprockets and such from online sites go to ace, tractor suply, or whatever is near you like that, for wheels go to harbor freight bearing go to one of those places or napa for bolts go to big r/stock and feild(all way cheaper) and instead of looking on gps and such go to fleabay

Do not buy wheels or tires from Harbor Freight! Plenty of people here have built Spider Karts stuff. I do not know of anyone who built any Edge products. We should be able to help some though.

My next kart will be an absolute bare bones skeleton with enough power that it will do big long wheelies. Planning on throwing $20 at Harbor Freight at some point after testing verifies everything, for a pair of their wheels/tires assemblies. Will start counting how many times the front end can come down from about 3'-4' high before they're destroyed. Guessing I can do it in 4 wheelies.
Anybody want to put their guess out here? No gambling, just a fun thing to be able to describe a reality of how crappy HF wheels are.

We have already had people on here do wheel and tire tests. They last anywhere from 5-30 minutes.
5-30 minutes for the bearings to do what, wallow out the hole for the race, pop the bearing out of the race, grind the bearing down? Pretty curious about that ever since I physically checked out everything they had in my local H.F. The church has various wheeled carts and hopper buggies, wants me to fix them when they wear out, have used H.F. for the casters, hard wheels, couple of pneumatics.
My real curiosity is how their death wheels hold up to the hard compression of the rock hard no suspension front end slamming down. Worth the $20 to me just to see. Wonder if they'd just fold over, bearing out of the race or similar.

So folding over it is. Now there's a new trick in the plan. I'll weld on some scrap steel bits around the bearing openings of one of the two wheels, see if it stays strong in that particular way when the other one folds. Maybe get an insight on the strength of the crap bearings.

i welded a sleeve in the bearing hole and replaced the bearings so nothing would slide then took it racing and it still came apart from the hub. then reinforced the hub still broke. also the tires suck did one burnout and it was toast the flat tread is better but the round tread is paper thin
