easiest way to pop off the clip on the chain to take it off?

I usually use the tips of a pair of needlenose pliers. One tip against the rivet, the other tip against one tail of the clip. Sweet and easy.

im getting different answers on taking off the clutch. i am broke and have no fancy tools. can someone tell me how to take off the clutch? i cant get the bolt to hold still

Duck billed pliers . They grip one of master link pins and the open end of the Masterlink clip. Popping the clip up from side is not good for the clip. Installing clean clip plate and clip and put Red << or any color >> RTV on top of it
