Duromax 7 vs Predator 6.5
Hey guys, I'm new here. So I have a thread about my Manco Dingo build in the WIP section, not sure if I'm supposed to just consolidate everything to the one thread or post separate threads in different sections associated to specific questions, so I'm doing both until someone tells me otherwise.
About the cart, I'm going to be re-making the front end, extending it about 4 inches to move the petals forward so it's more comfortable to drive. Also welding in more supports for the frame and possibly a rubber/foam bumper so the frame won't bend in low speed collisions. It has a 5hp brigs in it right now, which is very old and not very fast.
Editted:
So I've decided to go with either the Predator 6.5 or the Duromax 7 (I really want electric start), I know there are a lot of kits available for the 6.5 but what about the Duromax? It's a clone of something else right? I'd like the cart to accelerate as fast as possible, I would like top speed to be close to 40. I'll be running a torque converter.
I also need it to have an electric start, I know there are kits available to make the 212cc electric start, where's the best place to get one? I'm building an instrument panel for the kart infront of the steering wheel and I want to put the keystart there so it can be started while I'm sitting in the kart, rather then start it from behind and then get in.
Price between the engines really isn't an issue (even though the Duromax is almost twice the cost it comes with electric start which I need and would be expensive to put on the predator). What about durability though? And mobility? What kits can I get to upgrade the Duromax?
