hi guys sorry i havent ben on in a while i have a job now so its hard to keep track of school and work. i havent really had time for my karts. oh yeah and i forgot to thank some of the people who helped me out before if your reading this thank you.okay well im starting to work on my karts again because im doin online schooling and i have more free time and i just bought a 16hp duromax motor and a new 40 series clutch for the mini monster truck.my question was i have the motor installed and when its idling and anthing under half throttle it seems like its a backfire but not quite or a almost a sputter. i was wondering why its a brand new motor. if i turn the idle up a good amount it will stop doing it. but i need the idle low enough so the tc doesnt engage any advice helps. thanks

maxtool.com i got it shipped here.i like the motor i just want it to run right i had plans to use the kart saturday.for a fund raiser to help out these two kids who have cancer.is there any adjustment i can do.thanks

It sounds like it may not be getting enough fuel, did you change the air intake or exhaust at all and if not have you checked to make sure the fuel lines are clear and the carb is cleen.

if the carb is clean and there are no mystery pieces of junk in it than you may have to look at your jet sizes, valve adjustment may be out or, the timing is off from the factory.

if none of those you may a lemon:surrender:

I'm not sure if its cured but it hasn't been doing it.after I ran the motor for about two hours it seemed to stop doing it I hope since it was a new engine it needed to be ran for a while.i wil post pics of the mini monster a little later.thanks for the help guys.

Well- it's possible there was a bit of crap in the carb somewhere, and it finally worked it's way through. Many clone manufacturers are not exactly world-renowned for quality control- and this includes ensuring that parts are thoroughly CLEANED prior to assembly.

I would bet that if EVERYBODY who bought a clone opened up the crankcase right after purchase, we would have an INSANE number of people reporting crud/debris/metal chips in there right from the factory.

That said, you could have introduced the debris yourself. You might be surprised to find some crud in the bottom of your jerry can, and everybody should (and doesn't) use a fuel filter.
