Looking to upgrade stock exhaust to a more free flowing set up, yet I still want it fairly quiet. I know it is a compromise know matter what! Any suggestions?

Wear ear plugs...... 
Make the header like normal, but weld on the biggest lawn engine or small motor cycle muffler.... ?

Try a big muffler, that obviously wouldn't restrict the flow. I got one from a china dirt bike. It works really good when I hold it uo to my header. My gx160 is as loud as a harley..... Well almost....
it is extremely loud though.... When I hold the muffler up to it, it is a lot quieter..... If I can find it in this mess that has become my garage, I'll post a pic. I'd sell it to ya too, if ya want it.... Like cheap......

Check Out Rlv Muffler It Gives You Low End Torque And Its no to restrictive and it's sounds good but not too loud
