Want to start off - This forum rocks! :cheers2: Thanks for all the help on the different questions I have had.

How does one do a dual rear wheel setup with the sprocket and brakes attached? Pictures or link to directions would be very helpful, Thanks

I was thinking about a duallie set up at one point- but your question confuses me a wee bit- I was planning on having sprocket and disc attached to the axleshaft as normal on a live axle- what is the arrangement you're referring to?

Some sprockets and disks attach to the hub of the wheel on a motor bike. If I need to do it on a live axle, that is fine too. Want to make sure how this is done.

Thanks

I wam planning a mini-chopper after I am done with my bar stool racer. Figure if the mini-chopper had a dual rear setup, that would be slick.

That would be interesting, if not downright weird in the corners.
If you got two rear wheel assemblies (for 1wd setups), you could likely mount them back to back with one sprocket and one brake removed, and some fancy finagling. I bet if you had the parts on hand, you could figure it out.

Conversely, the live axle approach could be used. Some folks build their minis using a live axle and componentry, riding on frame bearings. Common parts could be used there, and may even simplify the dually mounting.

dually

i have the set-up on an electric parts bike. ifv you want it, make an offer.be aware, cornering is poor and so is maintenance (you have to pull entire assy.just to air tire)

the sprocket and chain doesnt allow for clearance on one side and you cant get an air chuck between the break drum on the other. (hey i didnt design it, ok)

Please post pics of your setup?

Right now I am looking into get a rim and slick tire off a real drag car to use as my rear wheel on my mini chopper. This will be free to me because I know the people at the track.

sorry, having computer issues so no pics. anyway, i dont feel good about the set-up i have. the spacer between thetwo wheels is pretty worn-out and i dont think you will like the duallie situation anyway.your racing slick is mo'betta'.(wish i had a slick connect for my bike) looking forward to seeing your finished bike.

Yeah - I am going to go for 1 wide racing slick tire. Would like to use one from my brothers race car if I could figure out how to mount a full sized 5 lug rim to the rear of a bike. Not sure how the hub and axle would work out.
