nowhere near impossible,
in fact all full grown electric cars that I know of, run on AC power in a similar range.

The thing is, what you want is not exactly something you can built at home with off the shelf parts, or -forgive me- a decent lack of knowledge.

It's a huuuuuuuge task and you need to know exactly what you're up to.
Personally I don't think I could make that happen without spending a huge amount of money. or years of research.

So... let's call that impractical for the average DIY'er ;)

I'll get a pic of it. Been meaning to get it out and redo it. Seems to be a bunch of repo parts on ebay.

'Dumb' is relative. I'm probably older than you are...

you should sell it to me since you aren't going to do anything with it except let it rust and seize up. Which would be a waste.

Yes dumb is a relative term. How old are you? Depending on the meaning of 96 in your user name I'm either about 14 years older than you or you're 4 years older than me

And no its not for sale. I plan to redo it as I go to a hit and miss engine show each year and I want to display it. It is stored inside to it doesn't rust and seize...I'm not that dumb

Now, have you ever used the throttle control on a Maytag engine? The engine speed is controlled by a knob the covers the end of the carb. Unscrew to speed up the engine, tighten to slow down and eventually kill the engine.
