Hey all,

I have a Chinese knockoff Comet 30 Series on my Murray. Recently, the driven sheave has started to intermittently stay in "low" position and won't advance the drive ratio as rpm's and speed pick up.

I haven't ever had a need to tamper with the driven sheave before. It's only a year old, all the plastic tips are still in place.

Suggestions?

See if the sheave that has spring tension spins without the stationary one spinning. If it doesnt, it may be rusted together or something is stuck in it, like belt shavings or something. If thats the case you will have to take it apart.
