My company, Delmarva Powder Coating has been restoring go carts for the last several years. On occasion we get a chance to build these drift trikes. Several have been made of many different styles however this one I was asked to do a build thread. Here is the progress so far.

All of the welts will be smoothed out to look like they are molded into each other. Future bills that we do love this unit most likely will not be as smooth as this, just a typical TIG weld. Too much grinding.

Rim came in red, so we're going to powder coat the rear wheels the same glossy bright red as well. The frame and fork will be pearl white with a red sparkle additive that will be seen only in the daylight. All of the engine tins as well as the fuel tank will be getting the same white pearl powdercoat treatment

Just a slightly modded Predator. I also have a Briggs flat head use for racing I'm considering....runs on ethanol.

Gotcha what's the maintenence like on an ethanol motor sorry to kinda Jack the thread just don't know too mUchiha about them that's why I just did a heavily modified predator on straight gas. A buddy said I could get more hp but maintenence would be a pain

We run the race karts every weekend and only do a few races before rebuilding the motors on them. Ethanol and regular fuel lines just suck over time usually. Just pulled one of the older flat heads out of the shop last week that we sitting for 6 months and it started right up. Being just about pure ethanol, there is no gasoline to gum up so it stays fresh in the tank and lines....just seems to dry out the lines quicker.

Finished filling in and grinding complete. Hope to powder coat it today. Have just enough pearl white left. (I hope!)

Had some time to add a little splash of color to the sprocket.
