Does anyone have experience with these Downs Brothers manual clutches?
I'm currently running a centrifugal, but I'd like to use a manual for my next build. I'd love all the advantages of a manual clutch, which would even allow for the fabrication of a 2+R gearbox, but for the price ($175), I'm not sure if I should just buy a torque converter instead. Has anyone used them in a build? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are a few members who have them, and they work well apparently

Im about to buy one. I think it beats a TC because you can dump the clutch and decompression brake. I used one on my friends go kart with a 5spd peerless 700 and the thing shifted really smooth and was a lot of fun felt exactly like a motorbike clutch and had a lot of strength.

I own one. With a mild or stock engine, they seem to work fine. The healthier motor'd guys have had issues with them slipping. For a kart or mini bike, you really ought to runner lower gearing. Since these clutches don't like to slip, you lose the gear reduction that a slipping centrifugal clutch provides.

I have one, kinda different from what I'm used to(haven't really had much experance with anything manual). I had to change the gearing so my bike was rideable, kept stalling alot but overall I like it.
