I think a kart with a with two motors mounted on each side powering a single tire each would be cool. would be nice for hill climbing and drifting.

"Posi" is hillbilly for a straight axle that's welded together. Most hicks don't realize you destroy a pumpkin by Welding it. A TRUE limited slip is different. Wiki it and you'll see what I mean.

"Posi" is short for Posi-Traction. Its GM's name for a limited slip differential. "A Posi will get you out of the ditch it put you into" When you weld the spider gears, some will call it a "Lincoln locker" as they probably took an old Lincoln arc welder to the carrier and side gears.

With a background in offroading, I am well familiar with the mechanics and function of an LSD or posi. I am also quite familiar with manual and automatic lockers, as well as "lincoln lockers" aka "poor man's posi".

That said, I STILL maintain that the independent engine/throttle arrangement is a total waste of time and effort.

I dont see how it would be more complicated

I can see it being more complicated in that getting the power from the left-hand side of the right-hand engine connected to the right-hand tire is going to take some doing.

Also, unless you want one-wheel brakes, you're going to need another brake system for the right-hand side.

Easiest/simplest just to chain-drive both engines to the same axle, and go with either the split throttle cable or dual cables up to the same pedal, or dual pedals/cables, any one would work.
