I have a Predator 212cc engine on my go-kart and I was thinking about how to make this look like it is not for kids and make it look like it is ready to get dirty.
any suggestions?

At least the "Predator" name sounds like it means business. Be glad that it isn't painted in Mickey Mouse colors, that would be goofy.

1. To make it look better I like to remove all the white label warning stickers from the engine. They look dumb and it's common sense stuff that you don't need to read twice.

2. I always rotate the starter assembly so the 212cc sticker is upside down. Looks cool as sh@† ...What I mean is I "clock" the recoil starter to get a straight pull on the string (and to prevent the string from fraying). Right now your seat is in the way. Remove the three screws, remove the recoil starter and position it with the starter handle at 10 o'clock, then reinstall the screws. The upside down sticker means you have the secret knowledge and you're now a PRO. A new DIY Go Karts sticker can cover it up anyway (are those still available?).

I think you're really talking about performance parts and upgrades so I'd suggest a Stage 1 Kit at the very least. That goes a long way to making it look better. Get the kit that has an exhaust header (or buy it separately). The stock air cleaner is actually fine and not that restrictive, but ditching the factory box muffler and putting on a pipe looks so much better.

EDIT: get one of those headers with the threaded end so you can screw on a "hot dog" muffler. Briggs part #294599.

No way, roll cages and suspension are for kids. I'm serious on the first part.

Manco, Ken-Bar, Carter Brothers and other fun kart makers had to add roll cages (brush guards actually), seat belts and padding to protect the kiddies and to help prevent irresponsible parents from suing the pants off the manufacturers. They sued them anyway and that's why all new karts come from China.

You'll be better off buying a suspended kart than trying to add suspension to that kart you have. And roll cages add lots of weight. My preferred go kart is the stripped-down 1960's style you have, but that's just because I'm such a badass.

I just noticed your kart has dual pedals for small and large drivers. Someone was asking about that months ago.
You could remove the pedals that you don't need (I don't know which ones you use, haha).

You need to lube your chain, it's dry and rusty. I saw red dust on the recoil assembly and figured it must be from your rusty chain.

Yeah the smaller foot pedals or good for the little kids they get in the way how would I remove them though?

Oh shoot, I just noticed the cables. Brake cable or rod looks decent as long as it is a straight, solid rod to the disc brake caliper....

But the throttle cable is wack. You need to sort that out so most of the cable rides inside the sheath/cable conduit. Might need to replace the whole thing and start over. Maybe others can advise on that, and you can look at photos like from a parts diagram. You need a good return spring on it too, so it always returns to idle when you let off the gas.

Unbolt them and set them aside for spare parts? For the brake, you just need a longer rod to connect it to the front (adult size) pedal. I think you can buy 1/4" diameter steel rod most anywhere. Maybe Lowe's or Ace or Tractor Supply and thread the end to install a threaded clevis fork.

Generic go kart parts might work, you just have to know what you need and measure.

Add some Punisher skulls to scare the kids away.
