"engine has not had more than 10 tanks ran through it" seems like a lot for the price, engine is $100 new, frame looks decent but not worth the extra $700 and $200 in misc parts

Seems he put an electric start on it(never seen that before with a pred)

I would at most pay $300, $400 on a good day....but then again I never pay anything near asking price, people from Colorado have a way of pricing things unreasonably...

Torque converter is unnecessary but you'll take off like a bat out of...you get the idea.

P.S....
That stock gas tank under the steering supports looks unplanned... why not just use a good ole plastic tank instead of screwing it down to the main floorboard and also tires look pretty worn, and seem to have a little dry rot going on...

I just made an offer on a dishwasher for $20....the seller texted back..."$50 and it's yours." .....I'm going to text back....."Nope....$50 and it's still YOURS!"

$40 is a fair price....so we'll see....

EDIT: So....yeah. $950 is only what he says is as low as he'll go.....Tell him : "Thank you....but that's just way more than I can pay....(and slip in...."for that")

Now....you haven't offended him by saying his price is crazy high....just you can't pay that....let him wonder why...and start thinking maybe for a little less...he could have cash in hand.....

You should get it for half....keep us posted on the negotiations......

There is two ways I negotiate. I normally just be brutally honest with them or I try to seem caring and work with them. Picking up something tomorrow (surprise) and sometimes that works

The stand is very nice when it comes to working on them to be honest. When j got my race karts I paid $450 for two one with a Briggs race engine rtr and the other was a rolling chassis. Also got tons of tires, spare parts and stuff like that.

Trust me though. You need to elevate it when you're working on them. Makes life 1000 times easier.

When negotiating with this guy make sure to point out all the work it needs and that it's an older chassis, and don't let him try to tell you it's vintage, people like to do that.

P.S
What he wants is ridiculous imo and way over priced

Remember guys, pricing varies with location... supply & demand...

If there are not many karts for sale in the area, sellers can raise the price because people will pay...

IMO, both karts are overpriced but, when the choices are minimal...

You can't be afraid to tell them what's wrong with it though. Guy wanted $1500 for my karts because he thought I was older and just wanting to get it cheap until he learned I was 15 and wanted to race...that's when he gave me the break. Main reason why I know what I know about engines and stuff. He was my gateway to turning a wrench.

Talked to the second guy a bit more. Said its a fox/volpe kart. He sounds pretty firm at $500. Said he was offered $300 for just the brake setup but he's not parting it out.
