I have a go-kart with a problem and I do not know how to fix it. Basically, I got a new Predator 212cc engine and when I drive the go-kart the belt will flap or tear up if I go a certain speed. Now I know I can go faster because the go-kart belt will start doing this at 10-15 MPH and the go-kart motor is supposed to go about 30-40 MPH. I am wondering if a torque converter will fix the problem but I think have one on there already. do you know what I may need to buy for my go-kart?

I would like to see the CVT with the belt removed? Are you using a Genuine Comet Belt? Mando is a quality belt also. Any other brand of belt is pure Chineseum junk and should not be used under any circumstances for any reason! Unless you like to throw away money. Go to the GoKart Supply website to learn how to measure for one and learn all about the CVT system.
Also what is the rear tire size and tooth count on both sprockets? 6:1 gear ratio is ideal.

Looks like a 30 series driver (small pulley) with a 40 series driven (big pulley).

If that's what you have, it will not work.

Take that belt off and get pics from top to bottom on both.

Yea that's a 40 series driven. See how its needs a v shaped belt.

The 30 series driver has a ALMOST flat side, on the inside sheave.

You need a 30 series driven to match the jackshaft.

I recommend a 7" 30 series driven, and you will need the correct length belt to match.

Read that link to learn how to measure for the correct belt.

Those washers you have stacked holding the driver on will bend eventually, you need the CORRECT thrust washer.
