Would it be sacrilegious to cut off the cage portion of a Yerf Dog?

In my opinion no.

It's not like it's a pristine Dingo or anything.

Guess it depends on the model though. If the cage is bolt-on, it won't hurt anything. If it's integral to the frame, you might have some adverse effects from the loss of the structural support. Though I doubt it.

The cages are designed to reduce product liability lawsuits, mainly and user injury second, imo.

Dingo roll cages can all be unbolted.

Since when did Dingoes attain classic status (besides their cult following here of course)?

The most important panel on any car built in the past 50 years is the roof; cut it in half & the car loses ALL its strength; same applies here...

I'd also say:
it's perfectly okay to just unbolt a brushguard and remove it that way.
It's NOT to cut off a cage though.

not because of the safety feature you're removing, that's something you're certainly aware of;
but because said structural integrity and the adverse effects of cutting.

So if there's no bolt flange between your cut line and the floor panel just welds.. then do not cut.
if there is a flange that bolts one set of tubes to another set of tubes it's perfectly okay to cut ABOVE said flange (in case you like some portion of that bolt on )
as it would be to just unbolt it entirely.

i think its a good idea to keep the roll cage as its a feature and generally SAVES THE NOGGINS, also you never gave us a reason to influence the decision of taking it off or keeping it.

Gotcha. One wheel peel, 5 hp... Probably won't hurt it to take the "cage" off. The front half of the frame looks a little flimsy, but that cage really isn't doing anything for it structurally.

I have had some questions answered about this kart, would this one wheel peel be a good deal?
