wow really? It has been too long since I've owned one...I used to be able to tell at a glance. My first was a '74, 3spd and a nicely built 304.

I had a 75' with the 304! I miss the power! This just has the straight 6.

Ok, my last Jeep comment :) Didn't mean to completely jack your thread....they 304 has tons of top end, but straight out of the box the 258 has almost as much torque as the 304....put a weber carb on it and you're strokin'

Nice bike. Nicer jeep. I tried to buy a 47 willys with a v8 3 spd but mom nixed the v8 in a WWII frame although it was totally restored in the mid 90's by a collector with 1500mi since restoration. Now I'm working on her to get a 48 willys with the Hurricane F4 engine :). Sorry to jack the thread. Nice mini bike, I just love jeeps.

GAAH! Houston is too far from Pittsburgh! That's if the price is right. :cheers2:

How fast is it? Looks great, but needs fenders IMO.

I see the throttle cable hanging in the pics. Did you get a twist throttle on there, or are you using a thumb throttle?

Congrats on it running!:cheers2:

Thank you! Right now I think it does about 30 with my fat &*% on it. Prolly 35 or more with the 11 yr old.

I have a twist throttle but having trouble with the cable so I have to go get another one.
