Hauled the kart up to Prescott from Phoenix to do some offroading with a bud who also has a yerf dog, had an hour or so of fun then tried a steep hill, he made it and I almost did till I heard what I thought was the belt slipping. We pulled the cover off on the trail and realized I had stripped the drive sprocket. The good news is that I have spare ones at home, the bad news is they aren't here and part of my NYE plans are ruined

I also wanted to mention, that if you dont remember or didnt catch my revive 2 years ago, I put on a HF clone with the AGK Stage One kit and removed the govenor, I think that puts the output to roughly 8-9 HP, which may be too much for that Comet TAV and that's why it sheared the teeth BUT on the other hand, I know the people I bought it from really put it thru hell so they could've stressed it to almost breaking and I finally killed it, either way, we have a fresh one on there now so we'll see what happens, I cant wait to get back up there again

It wouldn't just strip like that

It would have been almost finished
Then when u over loaded it it gave out
How's the chain and driven sprocket looking?

it is pretty loud, louder than stock for sure, you could add a standard mower muffler to it but I don't know how badly that would restrict air flow

only a few teeth are in contact at a time
so if it were to strip then it would loose one or 2 teeth at a time

to strip all the teeth u would have to run it for a while
slowly stripping a few teeth at a time
mean while its skipping over the already broken teeth and making horrible noises

I would say that wear has been going on for awhile. Teeth don't just strip out, It's loose/stretched chain, dry chain, misaligned sprockets, that all contributes to wearing a sprocket down to nubs.
