Does anyone know what happened to dowies and his M274 1/2 scale build?

Hi everyone.

I found this DIY Go Karts forum via this thread:

Does anyone know what happened to dowies?

His last post was on September 25, 2011 - then nothing more. He mentioned in the thread on the M274 he built that he had plans, drawings, 3D models, etc - that he was going to (in some manner) release (I think).

Does anyone know if this happened? Did something happen to him that anyone knows of?

What he left in that thread was quite a bit - perhaps enough to replicate the build to a certain extent, but obviously not everything is listed there. I'd just love to get a copy of those plans (I'd even pay for them), beyond what was posted.

I was able to find a drawing with exterior dimensions, but not actual plans or blueprints.

His scale model used a fair bit of artistic freedom compared to the actual M274 design. I'd say the photos would be enough to at least replicate one in appearance like he did.

I definitely agree with this assessment. There were plenty of "liberties" taken with the design in order to fit it to the scale (not to mention to reduce the complexity).

I just had noted reading in the thread that he had mentioned making such plans or whatnot available, and I was curious if that had occurred, but I could see that he seemed to "drop off the face of the earth" - well, at least as far as these forums go.

Which I found odd, but at the same time I know such things happen - done it plenty of times myself on other forums.
