I voted yes cause I do on racetracks, but hardly ever while riding around for fun.

Helmets are a really good idea for most any kart that has a rollbar, cause even if you dont tip the kart over you could easily smack the crap out of your head against the rollbar while hitting big bumps and stuff. For this reason, karts equipped with roll bars can sometimes be more dangerous than karts that dont.

I only ride buggies, a few of my mates have Sidewinders and Piranhas. In those I will always wear a helmet, the likely hood of flipping one of those is huge..

I wish I had one on when I flipped a couple weeks ago. would have saved me some road rash on my face.

my dad is a physical rehab doctor, he sees a lot of people at work who didn't wear a helmet. i'm fortunate enough to have a nice brain bucket, and i always wear it. if you don't have one you could maybe at least use a ski helmet and goggles? or buy one, IIRC, BMI karts has em' cheep. it takes 5 seconds tops to put on your helmet, it will take a lot longer than that to maybe recover from smashing your noggin.

+1 for YES
I would like my brains to remain in their current location, thank you.

Flipped last year, helmet on. Would have been worse without one.

I will when my kart is done. A friend of my dads was in a motorcycle accident and landed head first. He came out alive and is doing fine now, least his head is. He would have died on impact if it weren't for the helmet.

I usually do. Every now and then, when I know I'm just doing a few minutes of goofing off at lower speeds, I won't bother. Like if I feel like just doing a few donuts in the gravel. My karts far too heavy to go over doing donuts in the gravel, believe me- I've given' 'er my best! On the other hand, If I'm doing high speed passes up my road, then yes! Gravel road, lotsa potholes, 45MPH+. Helmet mandatory. The worst that's ever happened to me was losing control on a particularly loose section and going into the ditch. Fortunately, I'd managed to slow down quite a bit first and nothing was hurt...

Oh, yeah- If the kids are watching, then I do my best to wear my helmet no matter what- gotta set a good example!

The other thing is, relating to flips,

Shouldnt karts with no rollcage haveno seatbelts? Because if you flip the. Youre strapped on....
