Im not sure what i said was right or wrong
but im guessing i said something ignorant
lol

but Im sure u get the basic idea of where i was going

i was just suggesting we leave it out so it makes the address shorter
that allowing u to increase the font size

So, in your opinion, do we add the www or leave it out?

Leave it out.... everybody knows its "www." The only thing that ever changes is .com,.net,.gov., ect....

To simplify my original post, the "www." pretext was an accident that people began believing was required in a URL, when in fact, it's not.

So, no "www.", because it always has and always will be useless.

Better?

I'm also working on another style where the text is the same size as the crest; stay tuned...

Yes, but now that I'm up to operating temp...

Note the 301 redirect when I enter "google.com". Google's server just redirects to their www subdomain.

Well, I was just looking at it like this....
If my truck has a sticker that says "DIYGOKARTS.COM", anyone interested would be able to find it either by typing www.diygokarts.com in the browser bar or they would just search it on google or bing..... either way, they will still find us....

yea basicall if someone only gets a glimpse
they may enquire as to what it is
just typing diygokarts into google will get them here

should get plenty of hits on a fire truck
people tend to pay attention to big red bricks with lots of lights and sirens
assuming u go slow enough

i just want one for my buggy
one for my tool box at work
one for my pick and one to put somewhere random

Unfortunately that is not always true.

Some... uhm 'unexperienced'... webmasters do not setup the domain but the subdomain alone, therefor non-www adresses end up in an error message.

Sometimes it's simply forgotten to implement
and some don't want the main domain to be adressed at all.

but yes, it should work without most of the times.
Sometimes with a redirect (301) message (as google and diygokarts uses) sometimes without.

As usual, I mean no offense here.

I still don't get why the logo isn't just words. Read it, understand it, visit it. No copyright problems, nobody to displease, nobody to please, most can read and understand where to go and what it is.

Wrap it in a distracting image that has nothing to do with Go karts, and it just causes confusion no matter how you slice it.

I see the shield & just think vikings, or a ski lodge, maybe a pub... or something.

If I'm a passer by: A wrench, a car tire, someone crashing... and the universal refresh icon. Some aren't gonna get it. Looks like a family crest.

Think about it. Ask 20 people and you'll get 20 answers. Here's mine.

Just a sample pic below.
