do tyese parts need replaced to fire this motor?

Impossible. If the flywheel nut was torqued to spec, it will not spin on the shaft via the recoil. The timing may be out, but it won't spin.

Some racers have been known to NOT USE a key, for custom-tailored timing advance.

Maybe he forgot to install the starter cup or something.

i did at first forget the starter cup but went back and put it on, maybe the key fell out then. im going outside right now to look and find out. hopefully guys are still around in a few minutes

No I took the motor apart twice and their were no issues, the timing is on,I even managed to set the coil to .020 I think that's what I was told to set it at. And still no spark. I had some some before I started with this motor :( any ideas?
