Do I have live axle or differential

Looks like a live axle to me, but that sprocket hub does kinda make it look like a diff.

Im saying live axle. (thats my guess, dont get all mad at me later if I am wrong)

AJack up the back end up. Spin one of the tires forward. If the other tire spins forward it's a live axle (or a screwed up differential). If the other tire spins backward it's a diff.

It looks like a diff to me, and one that needs service at that. The shaft appears to not be coming straight out, and the Gap is uneven, which would be consistent with worn bearings/bushings inside the diff.

Not to my knowledge. When I set the back end up and spun one tire the other still spun opposite direction. I just prefer live axle.

Ha ha ha, it's supposed to do that. Helps greatly in carving narrow turns.

Might have to change your name to GoSlow, now.

Yes I understand that. You asked me if it was broken and I told you not to my knowledge. I just prefer live axle for a yard kart with big tires and a torque converter. :thumbsup:
