Do B&S 5hp flathead parts fit B&S 5.5 vanguard

I am looking into mods for my 5.5 horsepower vanguard engine and want to know what parts will fit it. Nobody makes kits for them so will predator 212 parts work or flathead parts. I am really wondering if the camshafts are interchangeable so I could maybe get a mod2 cam for it or something like it. I am also wondering if a stage 3 kit for a 212 would fit. The parts look right but that doesn't mean anything

Not likley. different engines, different manufacturers.
the only reason predator parts are easy is:
the enterprizing people across the pacific stole a nice design, reverse engineered it and sell " clones" for about 30% of what theoriginal sells for.
they sell millions cuz they be cheap. Millions means lotsa after market goodies.

Well, I knew predators made the clones but there are a few people that have put predator flywheels on Briggs engines and exhaust and small stuff like that. I can see where the internal side of things could get particular though. Another problem with getting parts for it is a kind of old engine.
