Hello all, I started with a re-build project and that got totally wrecked. So I have taken some very good advice from the builders on here to start a new build from scratch. I have already gotten almost everything I need and will post the parts and suppliers soon. I will also post pics and videos as I proceed. I am going to try and figure out how to get my camera to do a time laps too. (Maybe) LOL So let the games begin.

I got all the parts from MFG Supply. As it turns out they are only a 40 minute drive from my house. I did order a seat from BMI and when it gets here I will give you a pic.

I think this is about it for the parts.

Oh I think I forgot to remind you...
Might as well enter this in the build off contest, You are doing it anyway and documenting it here and it just has to be complete by December!

Looks like a great parts pile.

More Steering

I used a bronze bushing in a steel sleeve to help the steering shaft with a smooth operation and it will be replaceable as it wears out. I got the steering shaft from MFG Supply and used a 5/8 I.D. 3/4 O.D. bushing. The set up work better than I thought it would!

I got the Seat from BMI and it was used for $35 I thought it was a great buy considering it is adjustable! The down side was their shipping was $50 :mad2: It did arrive super fast though.

I had to make the motor mount and that was a huge mind blower. I have a 420cc Predator motor and the oil drain and because I had to mount the torque converter vertical the lower shaft got in the way. I found a video on YouTube that shows you how to mount the converter horizontal but it requires you to plug and cut off one of the oil fillers. Because I didn't want to void the warranty I choose not to do that.

I see a problem with some severe tie rod angle. Due to where the steering rod does not go all the way down.
Have you looked at that yet?

I was hoping once I welded the tabs on for the tie rods that would fix itself??!! That is next on the list one I finish the seating arrangement and roll cage. I have never set up a go kart so this has been a one thing at a time with as much pre-planning as possible.

A couple more minor details. If you want to mount the converter differently...
Go to harbor freight and "Borrow" the oil filler from the display. then you have a spare one to cut. Just Kidding Thou shalt not steal. :lolgoku:

Also the lock collar you have on the steering... In the future purchase the ones that are called "split type" they hold better. They squeeze the entire shaft rather than just the set screw and its opposite pressure point. Especially if you use any on the rear axle. They are handy for holding Sprockets and Disc brake hubs in place.
