Just wanted to throw this here for the DIY electronics crowd.
It isn't terribly difficult but is time consuming to get right.

The recent posts have been mechanical since I consider the electrical part "done". Of course there is an insane amount of work left to polish for kart use, but I have speed controlled a car starter and my purchased kart motor so construction has begun.
Real controller testing will happen under full load I think!
Lesson learned: If you use IGBTs, don't buy ANYTHING that wasn't designed year 2000+. The technology has changed so much my old IGBTs are just too slow, so I have to deal with a 5kHz whine. Oh well, it's a kart!
