Hi all, new to this forum... been lurking for a while. I have successfully had a plethora of gas driven vehicles when I was younger. As an older gent, I am finding that the older we get the harder it is for some of us to get around. being a much bigger guy i have to rely on building things for myself since most of the equipment these days does not and will not accommodate someone of size(fat people). I am very interested in creating a 3-4 wheel mobility scooter that can carry around a 5-600lb payload not including batteries and the cart itself. I would also like to figure out a way to get the most run time between charges(100amp hour or larger batteries) the goal for me would be that I can let someone of size ride this thing all day at Disneyland and not have to charge it. I have some designs in mind and have all the fabrication tools at my disposal.

Can anyone let me know what kind of gearing/motor/controller I would be needed to drive a 4.10-6 tire size? It would be cool to go fast(15-30mph?) when needed but normal slow scooter speeds(0-8mph) are acceptable.

36 people have viewed this thread and no one has any ideas?

To be entirely honest with you, sir- the vast majority of our members are gas guys, including myself. There are a few who know their way around electrical projects like yours, but they are a lot fewer and further between. No-one has yet commented, because those of us who have viewed this (including myself) have nothing of value to add. Unforunately, you'll have to let it sit and stew for a few days in hopes the right folks will trip on it.

Yeah, I don't have a clue when it comes to electric. The only suggestion I can give is to do a lot of reading of other electric projects. You will probably pick up some info that way

Not to steer you away from here, but maybe check the NEDRA website. They are an electric drag racing sanctioning body. I know there are folks as nuts about electric stuff as this place is about hydrocarbons.
