I was bored and just trying to teach my stuff how photoshop works, and I decided to make a new logo for the site. Yes, it is bad but, I need some advice on how to improve and just your general thoughts and ideas.

Here it is! :cheers2:

i think that the main focus of this site is go-kart and mini bike chat, rather than as a resource for dedicated plans. the plans are there, but i betcha most visits to the site aren't to study the plans. so any slogan should reflect what people come here most for. it's a community, and we help the newbs out (especially if they're willing to do a little research and not expect us to do everything for them).

i think the thing i found the most difficult when i first started out was the lack of an easily accessable roadmap on how to find the information i was looking for. i did encounter a few cranky "pros" that simply told me to "look harder, it's out there", rather than point me in the right direction. according to them, that was teaching me to be resourceful. apparently talking to THEM wasn't resourceful. lol.

i also found on minibuggy and buggynews websites that that kid of attitude is even more prevailant. so on here, i can put up with a couple of poopyheads, cuz the rest of you guys are cool. :)

any slogan should reflect what people come here most for.

So, something along the lines of "come & join the nuthouse" then? :roflol:

i think it should have some where along the lines of building advice in the motto

There were one or two sumissions that centred around that aspect, after all, as mentioned, it seems to be the main purpose of the site...

lol. looks good. but also gotta think about how it would play out on a vehicle. people are going to support this site on their vehicles too. so have to have something that wont cost to much to make at a shop

Not bad at all, my only suggestion is to change the racing karts to a graphic that better represents the site content. Maybe an off-road kart or vintage kart and an old mini bike.

Just a tip from an old photoshopper, when you have text over an image a good way to make it stand out is to add a small stroke, maybe 3px of black or a good opposing color. Also to give it depth a small drop shadow always helps.

Keep up the good work!

I did, the thing is, its so small, and when you add stroke or drop shadow, inner shadow or anything like that it becomes a blur.
