Ok, so my pads were making contact but are no longer making full contact. I also sanded the rotor multiple times but the rotor becomes glossy again. I now have a single bar that is twisted st the ends to attach to the caliper and the pedal. Don’t know what else I should do.

My suggestion would be to jack the back of kart up off of the ground. Spin the tire while either pulling on the calipers lever, or having someone bush on the pedal. If the tire is hard to spin while pulling on the calipers lever but easy to spin while pushing on the pedal the linkages are to blame. However if the tire is easy to spin or not grabbing at all then the calipers are out of adjustment.
