So, I checked, and the thinnest material we have is .125 wall. We have mostly .188 and thicker. I'm guessing I should see if I can source something a bit thinner than that, right guys?

Q. I have some left over material from a boat rack, I build for my truck. It is heavy gauge 1 1/2" x 2" is this too heavy for a frame for a go kart (sm child)?

You really need to start your own thread and so I'm pretty sure the mods will move it.

You can!
select the posts (mark the boxes) and from the inline moderation select "move posts", on the next page select new destination either existing thread or create new one (forum thread topic... you'll see what to do)

You know, that doesn't look half bad, I like the fact that you used a lot of triangle braces, which should make it strong & still be relatively light

That's because you're using rubbish wheels; get a decent pair & they'll be fine...

I'm not sure those brakes are "adequate" for the job, bicycles don't have a lot of weight, therefore, they don't require very strong brakes... unlike a go kart...

Here's a tip: Next time you're filming, turn the phone on its side...

Sorry, was just a quick shot of it, and the brakes will hold the engine at WOT. The wheels do suck, I know. When everything is something you just had laying around, the wheels aren't always the best, plus the part where I was footing the bill for it all, and giving it away.

it's not about if the brake can stop a WOT engine alone..
it's about if it can stop a moving mass of a few hundred pounds.

I know. I wanted to put a second one on to help, but the guy that was getting it thought that was too complicated, and too much work. He thought the single brake was more than adequate.
