As Bansil said if strapped in that loop is too low in the event of a rollover. The drivers neck would be snapped like a dry twig. As someone who broke their neck and had to have it repaired, life now stinks!
A good way to determine how high the hoop should be is put the tallest driver in the seat. Run a string from the front of the cart to the top of the drivers helmet and raise it 4-6 inches from there. Continue on back to the location of the hoop that is how high the hoop should be. If you do a cage instead of a roll bar then that is a different animal.

using the same engine, how high do you think you could gear it up
possibly 30 or 40 mph but with no suspension it would be undrivable. It is only meant for my garden so 10 to possibly 15 mph max is fast enough. would be good to have a suspension version for an adult.
I may put suspension on the kids truck I am building??

I hate working with fiberglass, makes me itch like a dog. Restored 2 67 vettes. I just got a 75 and can’t bring myself to work on it. I look at it and start itching.

I agree but the results are worth it - I am sure the vettes looked good in the end

Ohh yea! One looked great many trophies for the owner. Other one cheaped out just wanted a driver. My 75 is going to be a drag car with limited street time.
