Pretty easy I bet. as long as that CVT back plate comes off.

If you do.... and want to get rid of existing, let me know. Maybe at a fair price...? I would like to mess with a CVT for industrial engine.

I'm hoping it comes off I'm out of options, can't hardly find parts for this model, if I do get it changed soon I'll just give it to you for shipping cost. You think I'll have to change keyed shaft to support new dimensions of converter ?

Pretty sure crank shaft is still 3/4"
Just make sure you order correct chain and Tav sprocket combo to match axle sprocket.
Maybe worst case scenario would be sliding axle sprocket over an inch or two maybe.....
Remove 1st then post pics.

And thanks..... That is a mighty nice offer.

Lost key from shaft, variator fan keeps coming loose. I put some locktite on bolt hoping it will keep it secure. But will have to address the issue sooner than later gonna try and see if the back plate removes asap

Another idea

If I cannot get the back plate off the cvt can't I just take the variator off and replace it with a regular centrifugal go kart clutch and make it chain driven?

Lol, upon some digging around read up that some of these old ff620 back plates are stationary haven't gotton into it yet but shaft and variator is keyed so parts are limited enough cvt is starting to drive me crazy because of part limitation. Just exploring the fact that it may be one of the ones that's not able to be removed with typical measures. Kart has been a money pit so far but has good bones so I don't mind investing a few more pennies in it for the long haul just looking out there to see the best way to get the kart running smooth at an efficient price before my wife finally decided that enoughs enough.

Did that CVT come with the engine originally. Why I ask is because it looks like a scooter CVT, and they usually do not work well with standard small engines. They usually only really engage at higher RPM's than a standard industrial engine can put out

It did. It is the 1st generation edited they hit smarter and went with the TC.
I imagine the weights are pretty ligh,t so but engages early.
