OP- you have to be more specific, alot of people change a carb, but more to the point of what is the engine you are referring to, not the vehicle in which it is on.

People have successfully changed carbs on engines. You are going to have to tell us what carb you want to swap the Tecumseh one with for us to tell you if it will work

I was just getting ideas I have no specific ones in mind just curious as to all the possible options I'm actually thinking about one of those carbs off of a Chinese 4 wheeler and putting a throttle stop so it doesn't over rev! Also those carbs com with a choke and from the measurements it looks like it'll bolt right on with only a small bit of modification!

Ummmm- A throttle stop so it doesn't overrev????? That doesn't make any sense. The carb needs to be sized to the engine and the governor controls overreving. Throttle stops are used to momentarily shut carbs down to either shorten ETs or keep wheel spin under control. ...

And I never heard of one on a kart.....

Actually it makes perfect sense it won't be operated by a typical governor system from the engine and the throttle stop will limit the amount of slide travel of the carb thus only letting it only rev so much. Basically the carb will be the only control of the engine also I probably should have said throttle cable stop. Sorry for the mix up.

Not really a mix up so much as a flaw in your thinking. ....

Let me put it this way : if you could only push the accelerator pedal on your car 1/4 of the way down. ....it would take forever to get going. But eventually it would reach almost (and maybe) the same top speed on the highway. ..

I understand what you are saying we are just thinking differently but what I'm getting at is to keep the engine from revving to the sky we are just going about the terms of description in two different directions.

No- The question has been asked and answered. We are more than willing to help out in anyway we can. But if you are expexpecting people to go out of their way to post up pics of crap you will probably never use or need....good luck.

So - basically, what we do here is help people who have problems save time and money- not waste ours. Get to searching on your own time. ...

Well evidently someone is not in a good mood this morning and more on the matter i have searched and it led me here so possibly what i thought will help apparently will not since your content with being so rude lighten up because you may be surprised what i post next. And no its not useless i just thought since Yall play with these karts there maybe some one that does not just stick to what they have and feel the need to modify.

thing is that you cannot just put any old carb on any old engine. post the make and model of your engine and we can help you out. It is no use us suggesting you put a tiny carb on a 16hp engine. If we know what engine you have we will not be wasting our time

Help us help you...

Edit: Poboy, please be a bit nicer.

I'm pretty sure he probably has an OHH60-? but why guess? A little effort on his part will give him more reliable information. IIRC- people have put B&S carbs on them.

And I was trying to be nice- if he wants to burn up clutches and ignore advice he's welcome to it.....
