Picked up a Carbide kart yesterday, pretty decent shape. Seller said it had a belt issue. That seems to be the case.

what belt.. I see no belt ..
no more belt... no more issue I guess

I hope you don't have a pulley issue,
so while waiting for your newly ordered belt, check if there's some burrs or dents in the sheaves;
you know the drill

I need to pick up a press. There are strands of what used to be the belt jammed under the sheaves that won't come out. I'll have to use the press the collapse the spring, remove the nut then separate the sheaves to get the strands out. I ordered rollers for it too, they're flat spotted. Everything else looks okay otherwise.

Kinda looks like the stuff one sees slung all over the side of over traveled and unkept freeways.

Bought a clutch spring compressor and a 39mm socket, mounted the compressor in the vise and disassembled the clutch to get the jammed belt shreds out from under the sheaves. Waiting on new rollers for the variator then it goes back together.
