Hello folks, after a brief discussion on here whether or not to buy a rolling chassis or build my own go kart, I've gone with building my own. It's going to be an offroad/street go kart, where I can just swap wheels, and sprockets out and be good to go until I can build a street go kart. I'll be making it out of 1.00" square tubing, unless someone thinks I should move to 1.25" tubing.

I have a bare bone layout I worked up in Autocad, it's 32"x88" (WxL) That's just the frame itself, without front suspension or the front/rear wheels. I'm 6'3" so I want to build something I'll be comfortable in. The front will be an independent suspension, the rear will have two shocks on the swing arm.

I have the rear swing arm/engine mount area 32"x30" (WxL). Initially, I plan on putting a 212cc on there, but I want to have enough room to move up to a 670cc if I wish.

I'm designing it so I know just about how much tubing to buy, if someone would like to change something about the design, tips, etc. I'll gladly consider them.

As far as the wheels, axle, steering suspension, I plan on going through gopowersports.com. Believe I'll be making just about everything I can manage, gussets, shock mounts, seat.

I'll see if I can upload a photo here in a minute.

Here's the photo, not sure if yall can see everything

Any news? I might move this out of this forum unless we hear back! Thanks!
