Hey everyone I am new to this forum. I am 19 years old and wrench on whatever I can get my hands on. My neighbor gave me a "Fun Power" 5HP Briggs and Stratton go-kart and I am looking to swap over to a GX160 from a pressure washer. I need all the help I can get!!!

I'd recommend starting a thread in the Go Kart discussion area a few down from here. You may run into issues with that GX160 because pressure washer engines tend to use a tapered output and you'll want a 3/4" output with a keyway. You could get a new crankshaft and keep the engine. Bit of work but could save you some money.

Being in the home building industry, I got mine about the same time. Mounted on the dash board. You could set it so instead ringing, it would honk the horn repeatedly when you were in the field. That came right after pagers and using pay phones. Modern Man, modern.

After working in a small diner as a dishwasher/busboy from age 13-18, I graduated high school and worked at a cell phone/car alarm/early ISP provider installing cell phones and car alarms. Those were the days. Lol. I installed phones in Barry Sanders, Grant Hill and a bunch of other Lions and Pistons Players cars. Even installed a fax interface through cell phone on Bob Seger's boat and same on Jimmy Buffett's. Jimmy Buffett and my boss were drinking what they called Red Eyes. It was Heineken mixed with tomato juice. I was 18 and hate tomato's, but ended drinking 3 of them with him. Made me puke a few hours later! :ROFLMAO:

Doesn't look like things are getting much better @ GM.

I'm a die hard Ford guy. But the two major contractors I spent 38 years with mostly had Chevy 3/4 ton small block trucks. My work required me to drive a lot.
I think during that time period I drove close to 1&1/2 million miles. As reliable as you could wish for. 1975 till 2013. They must have screwed something up real bad around 2020.

Ford has a big recall over 1 mil. Going on now. I’m a die hard GM guy with some early Chrysler.
Had a 2011 Flex Fuel V6 Fusion. The power steering would just go out. Most of the time it happened shortly after starting the car so I could just turn it off and back on to fix it. There was a recall for that issue for my year of my car, but because my specific VIN didn’t make the list (wrong manufacturing facility, wrong month made… type of distinction) they wouldn’t fix it. I asked the price to repair it and was gunna be multiple thousands of dollars to replace the rack and pinion. F* Ford

Hi all. I am struggling to contain all the spam. There is just so much, and I only get time to visit the forum once a day. I am getting pretty annoyed with all the spam too. I am trying to contact Robert again to see if he can do anything from his side. It all seems to have gotten worse since the forum ran out of space about a month ago.

Reporting spammers does help. You don't have to report all of it though. What i have been doing is looking at the "New Posts" and just going down the list cleaning up as i go.

I will keep you all informed as I hear anything

...& "feel" its quite important
...so, a (kinda) "jump thread" BUMP :cheers2:

"I too had been having issues opening threads &/or responding :(

So, I sent a message to moderator Landuse (Paul)
...& he got ahold of the "big guy" Robert (owner of the forum)
...& it seems to be workin' now :wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai::wai:

For me these "issues" have been a reality check
...on how much I enjoy everyone's friendship & camaraderie, on this forum

Thinkin' about it, maintaining this forum probably isn't/can't be FREE
...& because it helps soo many people with their "father/mother &/or son/daughter projects
...that I'm going to send DIYGK Administrator's Sanity Fund! donation
...or/even a "keep up the good work" donation to Robert "the big guy"
...to help keep things going ;)

Anyone else who may want to "help keep our beloved forum" up & operating can send donations to:

Robert Jung
1214 Belvin st.
San Marcos, Texas 78666

* Maybe even include a personal note
...about how ya feel. about this kool azz forum that he set up
...& has maintained for ALL of these years :cheers2:

** Also, If ya include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope)
...you'll probably get ya a DIYGK sticker sent back to ya :2guns:"

Alright. I need to take Functional Artist's advice and just do it. I have some questions first:

Is this address still valid?
Can we still get DIYGK stickers?

Landuse needs a fund raiser, good idea.

Its really easy to setup a donate button linked to paypal. Put it at the top of the front page...

I bet this place would get a bit more donations than you guys think.
