Hey guys I'm new on this. Today I picked up a kart off craigslist for $100! It needs some TLC but the things got a Honda GX200 motor in it and a sweet frame. I got some pics up, I'm trying to decide what I wanna do with it though. I've got somewhat of a tight budget for this thing but so far what I wanna do is..

either powdercoat the frame or just paint it, cuz its covered in surface rust

And paint the rims. however since this thing doesn't have a body give me some ideas for a color scheme. I thought of orange for the frame with black rims or white frame with black and red pinstriped rims. but give me some ideas.

As for the motor, from what I've read I'm gonna get a new exhaust and a new intake, take the govenor off if it hasn't already been removed and put stiffer valve springs in. Anything else i should look into though? I'm also putting on a disc brake setup on the back.

That loooks like a nice strong frame. Are you keeping your tires for offroad or are you going to get some slicks?
Nice deal!

I think I'm just going to keep the tires that are on there. They're basically new.
If I decide to mod the engine and take it to the track I'll get slicks.

We ended up finding 2 more karts on Craigslist, they came with 2 5HP Briggs an old school 3.5 HP Tecumseh, a new clutch, chains some new wheel bearings, and a box of other odds and ends, best part is everything was FREE!!

We slapped a fresh coat of primer on it sold it as a rolling chassis for $100
Sold the black one for $50 after we robbed the cables and steering wheel

Then we found this Yerf Dog and scored it for $75 without a motor, put in one of the free B&S motors cleaned it and painted it and sold it for $525

Here's an update on the original go kart we bought. We had to move the seat back, change the steering, and move the motor plate back, fresh paint and it's almost done

I know...He was asking $500 and I told my son to tell the guy that he's 16, my son offered his $250 and the seller told my son he could have it for $175 + one 20oz Redbull.

Now I gotta try and find one so we can slice and dice it up on the track

My floor is wet right now. :drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5::drool5:
But seriously, why? How? I don't get it. I have never ever seen any gokart (gokart, with engine, enough pedal gokarts :p) being sold in my country, not to mention you just found over 4! Incredible!

I absolutely love the paint job on your gokart! Those rims looks awesome mate! Keep up the good work!
