Hey guys, what one is better live axle or single wheel drive? I've heard it's hard to steer with a live axle.... Is this true?

What's better? Blue or red?

Yes- a "dead axle" (single wheel drive) typically exhibits better road manners. On the other hand, traction in less-than-perfect-conditions can be pretty dismal. There is no drifting either. By the same token, a live-axle equipped kart can perform quite admirably on pavement if it's set up correctly.

So basically, it boils down to your needs, your preference, and the kart itself.

As TS stated, a live axle kart requires a lot of attention to steering, etc. If you want live axle, this is a must! Have a thorough read of this & ask questions if there's anything you don't understand

How badly will tire scrubbing from a live axle affect handling? I'm looking to make an off road kart and from what I've read it seems that having two wheels driving the kart is more important than some tire slippage in corners, but I'm not sure about this.

Thanks guys, I'm still very new to this.
