DC Motor Vertical Mounting

Are there issues with bearing load if a horizontal motor is run vertically? Thanks!

I am just guessing no, because there are only "motors", not directional motors. But our resident Nikola Tesla will chime in.

Here's some reading for ya.
It's oriented towards larger industrial motors, but the factors generally scale down for smaller motors.
To a large extent, its more an issue of reduced life vs breaking down immediately.

Thanks, I thought I was told long ago that the bearing selected by manufacturers was determined by orientation. The article you referenced confirms that.
