mostly to say thank you to itsid for helping me get started. I'll try a Kelly controller with the 1800 watt brushless i have. do you have a reccommendation? tsk whit.

I think you can get away with a KBS48121X
(mini brushless KBS-X series 55A, 130A peak for $99)

or if you want a smoother motor response you can try a sinusodial KLS4812S
(mini sinusoidial brushless KLS-S Series 50A, 120A peak for $99)

both should deal with the std 48V 1800W BLDC fairly well,
albeit it's about the minimum power controller you should get.

I'd rather recommend one that's able to provide 60+Amps continuously.. that way it's less likely to heat up

but unfortunately kelly raised their prices in the past year quite noteworthy,
so another few amps quickly cost another 50 bucks already

mini KBS-E KBS48151E (80A, 160A peak.. $159)

OR you could also look in the sinusoidial "golf cart" controllers (IP66 rated)
like the KLS7212N (https://kellycontroller.com/shop/kls-mn/ also $99)
