Days of Thunder Superflo #46

I have discovered a Days of Thunder Superflo #46 go kart in the rafters of what used to be an Exxon station. It was given to the station at that time as a promo for the movie. The guy never got rid of it and it should clean up to as new condition. I can purchase this kart for $500. I'm guessing this would be a good deal, am I correct?

this would depend on the go kart under it. Could be mass produced trash or something unique giving it really collectors value. However, i dont see 500 in it unless we get better pictures

I believe it to be a Funder Wheels kart? It should be a 3 hp engine from what the guy is telling me. I'm looking at it more as a collectible that a racing fan would want.

It has plastic wheels and a toothed/cogged belt drive. Hard to get parts for I do believe.

It'd have to be pretty spiffy and near-mint to warrant 500 bucks. But your mileage may vary.

There's been a few (or just one) on the forum lately.

I thought I could double my money because there can't be many of them out there, but the more I look into Funder Wheels it looks like they are a disposable kart. Now I'm thinking I'm gonna back out.

Nah. There are karts out there more worthy of investment, but these hoarding collectors seem to snatch everything up.

Get thee a more "pedestrian" go kart (Manco/Ken-Bar/Carter Bros...etc.) and join us!

Parts are basically impossible to get unless you find one online that is trashed. The sprocket and wheels are the biggest issue as well as the steering column. I just refurbished mine which I’ve had for 23 years. The wheels are a strongly glued two piece system. You can cut the old tires off but getting new ones on is the challenge and doubt it can be done. I’ve learned a lot working on mine the past several months. I do have an Owners Manual if it will help anyone.
