Hi guys. I have an old 60s rupp dart kart. Cant get the motor to start so replacing it with a 212cc predator motor from harbor freight. How do i go about hooking it up. I need some kind of instructions or something. Ive worked on cars but never go carts. Do i need anything else. Will the same centrifugal clutch work? How do i connect the throttle cable to throttle? Basically what other parts do i need and any specific stuff that needs done to fit it and make it work? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Youtube is your friend. Search for predator 212cc throttle linkage and there are many how to's for this engine. I don't know a thing about your kart but the pred 212 is very popular. This forum was very helpful for me as well when I started my new hobby. Good Luck

Just remember that IS a classic Kart. Don't go cutting and welding all over it. I for one can see the simplicity in throwing on a predator. I like building stuff and driving karts but have little experience with small engines and no patience. But you should keep that old engine to sell with the kart when you are done, or we have a sales page on this forum, there are guys here who appreciate and will pay you for that motor. Fast cash today. Please if you sell it sell it here not on ebay.

By the way have you seen this recent build?: http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=28715&highlight=Dart+Kart

Ya im curious what this motor is if its better? And dont worry not trying to mess the kart up at all just want to get it running again. The people i got it from had it sitting for almost 12 years in a garage not doing anything. Anyone know what its worth as it sits? With motor put back on nd everything original. Still have the seat also just took it off cause stuffing was falling out. Was planning on putting motor on to have fun and than eventually selling with old motor included so if there are any offers ill definitly think about it.
