You know, I think I remember when that was an attempted thing, back in the day. The moderators had to go to war. I was on their side, and I can tell you it was only entertaining for maybe an hour out of over a months worth of time. If someone isn't willing to be themselves, up front and honest, polite, curtious and absolutely non political, then they need to go somewhere else. This site is about recreational toys, the simpler the better, for people who aren't rolling in mountains of money. It's also supposed to be a site to help teach people. I stand by that; I don't know everything, but if I can help, I will!!!

I vote NO on Dark Mode. If you want dark mode, put on sunglasses indoors at night. If your eyes are sore now, be glad you didn’t see Doug Topless is all of his full brightness white mode.

spend some time outside until your back hurts then you’re eyes will feel fine in comparison.

I am here to beat the drum again. I have a dark or dark-color mode enabled on everything I view now (even YouTube and Wokipedia) but here I don't have the option. I have to admit, on a large screen, viewing DIYGK can be somewhat painful and retina-burning on standard brightness levels. I prefer the better contrast of a dark theme as well. Other XenForo forums have it and it should be an easy task for an Admin.

Attached two examples from the same website. Is it maybe not an option on DIYGK because the other site says "Community platform" and not "Forum Software" like ours? I am assuming there's a difference.

A dark blue and orange theme would be super to reflect the colors we already have.

Haha! Everything I have is in dark mode. This is the only site that isn't and I would LOVE dark mode, either one!!!

One forum I'm on that uses XenForo did add on the dark mode, and it was weird. Could be because its normally in beige.

It should always be optional or user-selectable. Original for the purists who cannot handle change, and some dark color/white text options for the rest of us. The user-selectable click options are in the lower left on my two examples.
