Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has built a custom gas tank out of household items or along those lines. I saw a thread about the guy who built it out of the Heineken mini keg. I was just wondering if anyone has built anything similar.

u can built it out of anything

people have use kegs
propane/gas bottle
ammo boxs
iv used a fire extinguisher
i know someone who used a lunch box
pretty much any thing up to a cereal box

if u want to make it easy
look for something that is already water prof (so the fuel wont leak out)
make sure the fuel wont eat it (some plastics melt in petrol)
find something that has screw fittings on it so its easy to attach fuel lines

preferable to have 2 holes in it
one at the bottom and one at the top
one to let the fuel out one to let the air in

but u can make any thing meet these points with some fabrication

u could use that just fine

a very important thing to note
when ever working with propane tanks or any gas tanks of any type is stored energy
u cant just cut into it
apart from the flammable side of it
it may let all the gas out of what ever hole u put in it
this can be like letting off a small explosion
it can cause personal and equpment damage

u must first release all the pressure
by undoing the tap till it all drains out
if there's a one way valve or flow limting valve
then remove it

stand the bottle upside down and leave it in an open place for a few days to make sure its empty
nit all this is necessary but hell better be safe than sorry

that aircon bottle will good
no dangerous gas inside for a kick off
if u can
go to an auto shop and get the correct fittings so u can screw a hose right on the outlet

or u can weld a small block on the bottom
then drill and tap it to take a barb fitting to attach a hose

u are going to put a hole in the bottom regardless
itll either be an outlet or a vent

if the bottom becomes a vent then u dont have to weld a block on

I used an old oxygen tank once. Back when there were no cell phones. Slapped it on a stretch minibike with a Briggs v-twin 18 hp. No pictures :(

Tanks(compressed gasses) are cool, but not all bikes have space for them. they can also imbalance a bike or machine when full sometimes.

on the small side? I would use one of those 1 gallon red gas carriers.. easy to replace, cheap and works.
