Found this frame a few months ago for $100 cash. Finally started chopping it up today. lowered the seat plate/bar. Just ordered gussets to strengthen the frame.
Going for a simple 212 build, nothing fancy.
No governor, & a hop up kit. Might bend and weld a quick exhaust for it.
40 chain with a 40 clutch to match.

Any feedback would be appreciated. It's a really fun build so far. Only issue I've had was the chain hitting the frame but I have a nice little chain roller I'm gonna throw on in line with the sprocket to keep it from interfering.

You cannot go wrong with a Pred 212cc on that!!!! Can't wait to see the production photos. I've seen a trike in my area on CraigsList and have been tempted to buy it minus the motor and 90% assembled but people think their sh*t is worth gold apparently. But they sure look interesting!! My current chopper project will help keep my mind off it till the price comes down :D

Rear axle has bearings, yes.

Trikes are a lot of fun I'd say go for it if you can get them down to the right price!

& I think 1 engine will be enough for now. Lol

Progress

Had some chain clearance issues with the frame. Just threw together this quick bracket for a chain roller I bought off Amazon for $5 ish.
Mig welder, flat stock, and some 3/16 round stock did the trick.
Adding a washer and cotter pin (thhn wire) on the back side so the roller itself is replaceable.
I plan on pre drilling and bolting it up so it will be removable. Also plans for a spring mechanism in the future so it acts as a tensioner.

Had to put the project on hold for a little while but I'm back on it. Im going with a kick brake. Already halfway built, last thing is to weld the peg on (spring return mechanism already finished).. I have the engine on it just have to space and bolt on the clutch. Went with 420 pre stretched chain. Hand grips and throttle twist assembly all installed. Also did some final welds to the frame. Will post update pics soon. :) Shouldn't be much longer before she's up and runnin.

Did a little more fab today. Fashioned a kick brake with some metal I had left from a go kart front lip and some from a lawnmower deck.

Handgrips are on and twist throttle ready to go.

Working on some footpegs. Got it all cut and ready just need to weld it up.

Also need to drill 3 holes and get proper length bolts for the seat (it's just sitting on there right now)

No performanc parts yet just wanted to see how it felt. She hauls. :)

Still need to clean up a few welds and paint it. I'm thinking yellow. I'm trying to break away from black on all my builds.

Anyone had any luck spraying paint over bedliner?
I want the texture with a nice color, but I'd hate to go through the effort just to have a ugly finish.
