Okay, In an effort to lighten up my kart, I removed too much weight from the front of my frame. Now my steering is weaker. So how could I add weight? I don't want to weld anything more to the frame. And I don't want to just say "screw it" and put a cinder block on there.

I'm thinking if I can find a set of big bull horns, that would be sweet.

But I'm open to interesting suggestions.

thanks

Since you're placing lights on your kart, might as well get a buncha smaller/one big battery... place it at the front or under the frame...

DAMN! I knew it was gonna get that smiley used on me!!!

haha

There was a larger brush guard and a heavier bottom plate. The brush guard was too dented and broken, so I went back to an older one. And I used a thinner bottom plate.

I'll have pics tomorrow, I (might) promise.

shift the seat forward a bit to change your weight distribution.
then chop a bit out of the frame and give it a shorter wheelbase for better handling.
sounds like a lot, but it would work

well, for a little weight, you could get one of those mack truck hood ornament dog things and put it on there... those things are frikin heavier than they look. they must be made of like lead or somethin because they weigh about 5 lbs:eek:

If he took off enough metal that his steering and taction was affected, I doubt 5lbs would make much of a difference...

what do you mean by "steering is weaker?" like its going to fall apart, shakes when you turn, or getting understeer??? elaborate :mad2: and yesterday is way over due! lol you broke your promise :toetap05:

:2guns::useless:

I think there are better ways of fixing the steering problem you're having, other then "adding" weights. ;)

well, with all my weight in the back, it brings my front tires up a bit if i accelerate on a hill, etc.

yeah, i kept getting lazy. I ended up just putting my old bottom plate on. It added a bit more weight to the front and middle.

Ok, pending my laziness tomorrow, i will post pics.

=P

I would have to agree with adjusting the seat forward to balance the center of weight more forward. Maybe more padding to the seat back which would force you to sit forward more.

Easier said than done, I guess . . . .

Hey! You could wear those leg weights joggers use around your ankles when you drive! Be sure to post action pics of that! It would give new meaning to the term "lead-foot"!!

I'm gonna do this to my kart anyways but im thinking along the lines of oscaryu1, i think you should set up a car battery they weigh about 25-35 pounds (or more, not sure exactly) and use it to run cool looking fog lights or a radio so it wouldn't just be dead weight cause it has a purpose. and plus, how awesome would you look flying down a street blasting Final Countdown!
