Pulled the lil Baja warrior out of hibernation....only way I can get it to start is if I pull the plug wire off and let it jus barely touch end of spark plug?? And she'll fire rite up??? Put plug wire on instantly dies...... Pull till yer hearts content it will not fire..unless I pull plug wire off and let it barely touch end of plug? Any body ever encounter this?? Few other issues but this one has me stumped?

Hello and welcome...

No I haven't...
So likely culprits are bad spark plug, Bad coil, kill grounded somewhere(rattles when running but runs)...

Whats the motor.. Pics??

Also what is the condition of the spark plug wire???
Is it damaged in anyway??
Does it have a good connection to the coil?

The spark plug is fouled. By letting the spark jump from the wire to the center plug terminal the voltage increases enough slightly the spark will jump from the center electrode to the ground electrode. This is a very old trick to pull the plug wire slightly away from a misfiring engine with multiple cylinders to see what spark plug is fouled. Again change the spark plug!

Very common to happen on a four cycle engine that is either using oil or the air fuel mixture is too rich because of the wrong jetting or a plugged up air filter. Another way to see if a spark plug is fouled is to remove the spark plug from the engine and hook it back up to the spark plug cable and the hold the spark plug hex in your hand and turn the engine over slowly and if you get shocked or feel the a little tingling on the hex then the plug is fouled. A spark plug can look fine but it can be fouled which is a short from the center electrode wire to the outer metal shell. I have seen people change ignition components on their engines and throw away money doing so just because the spark plug looked good when indeed it was fouled.
I am glad that you got her going!

Did you leave the fuel turned on while it was sitting?

Sounds like the float was stuck or the float needle not sealing. The carb will then overflow into the intake port, gas pools in the cylinder, and it then slowly leaks past the rings and into the crankcase(oil).
