Hey guys im looking to build a "crawler" go kart buggy thing.

Basically its going to have godly suspension built onto a custom tube frame. im hoping for something looking like this but with a roll cage for the driver.

this one is obviously an RC mini but its a start to where im looking to go.

what im mainly looking for is some suggestions toward what i should do.
1.) Engine- not sure on what i should run. This thing is going to be geared low as hell but im not sure on what to use. One thing i was thinking was a 4 stroke with a built in auto trany w/ reverse.

2.) suspension- Because im only using a small engine im looking to go with same sort of shock set up as the picture. I would do 8 instead of 4 but the drag is to much for such a light weight vehicle.

3.) Axle- This is where im probably the most stuck and looking for suggestions beyond steering. This cant be like every other home made go kart where only 1 wheel has power. I need 2 wheel power, 4 wheel is just impossible with out adding an other engine to the front axle.

4.) steering- this thing is going to have a massive lift... Im just quite stumped in general on this one.

5.)wheels- This is going to be a sand pit/ trail rider (rough trails lol) so im looking at some agi tires but im not sure what exactly. something of this sort maybe: http://www.motopartsmax.com/index.php/main_page/product_info/products_id/15169/tID/1/cPath/50_111

side notes: if your a genius and could figure out 4 wheel steering that would be sick. :drool5:
im not sure if i wanna do a 1 or 2 seater but a 2 seater would be cool
Top speed is undetermined at the moment due to not knowing tire size but something like 20" or so, and engine size but i would like it to be like 30+ mph at least.

Well, geared "low as hell" isn't going to hit 30mph unless you use a quad/bike engine where you can throw it into a low gear and go. The axles and IRS is going to be interesting as well as the "massive lift" and front steering. I would love to see this completed and will, without a doubt, be very jealous.

use an entire 360cc farm quad because then u get shaft drive, 4wheel drive and a low range gear box
my surgestion would be a kawasaki workhorse it has fully automatic box with high low and reverse. it has also selectable 2 and 4 wheel drive and enough power to pull a toyota landcruiser out of the sand dunes.

and before anyone says im trying to sell them, im not i just own own one and anything build to compete with it would do the same

u could also use two front axils from a quad to get 4 wheel steer.

lulz, i'm glad to see you like my expressions.

I was distracted and was doing like 10 things at once when i was writing this so i wasn't really thinking. Basically the chassis will have a good 2' for so lift and in the way of "geared low as hell" i'm looking to use either a plate compactor motor or i found this other really great 4 stroke 150cc engine i could use and do other things to un-f*ck a gearing ratio problem if one occurs.

In the way of like drive train something like what Bill CNC has for his Arachnid project would be what i'm looking at.

Once i work out a frame design i will post it up. Most likely it will be done in paint so don't get your hopes up for some amazing blue print of it
