I'm trying to install a torque converter on a Briggs 7.25 OHV but the shaft is tapered. This won't work with the converters pully , it needs to be straight. Any ideas?

:wai: Something is not right here. If that is the correct valve cover, engine numbers indicate that it is a 6.5 B&S Intek engine. IPL shows a straight crank number 699445 superceded by 797070.

I'm pretty sure it's original. The engine came off a pressure washer that my dad bought new. But I'll give him a call when I get home from work.

Spoke with him and he said he bought the pressure washer at a pawn shop and it was "new". Guess someone changed out the valve cover. I think I'm save some time, put it back together, and buy a 6.5 predator from harbor freight, they got them for $99.

:wai: Good buy on the Predator, now you know what you have. Also it is less costly than buying a crank for the B&S engine.
