Cranks But won't start

i have to jump the solenoid to get it to crank. tiking200-8. i think it is gy6 platform 168.9cc. Carb or fi? i know very little.

Pull the spark plug out, shoot a SHORT blast of starting fluid in the cylinder, reinstall the spark plug then try starting it. If you have spark you should hear a pop or puff from the exhaust. If not, you have an electrical concern. Pull the spark plug back out, lay it against something metal with the plug wire attached (this is grounding the spark plug), then crank the engine to see if you have spark.

Another thing to look at is pull the flywheel and make sure the key has not sheared. This will throw the timing off and she will never start but will crank until the battery goes dead. Just had this happen on a West Bend and not one of those things you ever look at but that was the problem, put in the new key and she fired on the first pull.

I had a similar issue. Now I say all it needs is air, fuel, spark, compression, and timing.
